Available in two generous sizes, the HOTBIN Mega lets you ramp up the scale of your compost production. Ideal for large families, big gardens and allotments.

Like the original model, it’s extremely quick and efficient at breaking down waste, turning it into rich peat-free organic compost your plants will love. Find it a flat surface (in sun or shade) and feed it around 20kg of waste a week all year round (this equates to about one mower box or half a wheelbarrow).

It’ll steam away at up to 60°C to rapidly break down waste, producing mulching compost in 30 days and mature organic compost in 90 days - killing weed seeds, pathogens and fly larvae as it goes.

Uniquely well insulated, it breaks down a wider range of waste than a standard cold composter. Throw in garden waste, grass clippings, cooked food, egg shells, mouldy bread, fish, meat and even bones, plus some bulking agent or shredded paper/corrugated cardboard, and wait.

The temperature will rise and rise, and the waste pile will shrink and shrink. You won’t need to worry about forking or tumbling it. When it’s ready, undo the ratchet straps, unclip and remove as many sections as you need to harvest your compost.

Made from sturdy recyclable plastic, it maintains a high internal temperature to keep on working right through the year. There won’t be any unpleasant odours or flies so you can keep it near the back door for easy filling.
