- 2 x Salvia nemorosa 'Caradonna': A hardy perennial, known for its vibrant violet-blue flowers on rich, purple-black stems. These rise above a dense mound of grey-green, aromatic foliage. Blooming from early summer to autumn, it adds months of colour to the garden. Grows to 60cm.
- 1 x Perovskia 'Blue Spire': With its aromatic leaves and upright spikes of violet-blue flowers, Russian sage makes a wonderful companion to all kinds of late-summer ornamental grasses and perennials. In August and September, tiny, violet-blue, tubular flowers appear on silver-grey spikes above the main framework of the plant, among deeply-cut and lobed, grey-green leaves. Grows to 1.2m.
- Planting tips:Prepare the bed well by digging in lots of composted organic matter before you plant. For best results it is essential that the plants are kept well watered for the first year, particularly during warmer weather.
